Before you apply

We鈥檙e so glad you鈥檙e thinking about applying for the Snow Scholarship - this could be the start of something big 鈥� and we鈥檙e here to help you get ready.

The application is your chance to tell us about yourself 鈥� your story, your aspirations, and what drives you. You鈥檒l be asked a couple of questions, including:

  • What are you intending to study and why?
  • How has your background shaped the impact you hope to have in your community (e.g. family, broader community, workplace or beyond)?

We鈥檝e put together some resources to guide you through the process 鈥� including tips on how to approach the questions, key dates to remember and how to submit your application.

Take your time, give it your best, and most importantly 鈥� use this as an opportunity to show us who you are and where you want to go.

Please fill in all your personal details correctly, checking spelling as you go.

"What are you intending to study and why?"

Your response should reflect on your motivations and/or personal experiences that have led to your choice of study and how your course will help you achieve your future aspirations. Remember to include some personal insight that shows why this study path is important to you.

Your answer is limited to 1,000 characters, which is roughly 150-165 words, so keep your response focussed and meaningful.

Use this response to share an introduction to your personal story, your goals and the impact you hope to make. Think about your aspirations (both personal and for your community) and explain how your chosen degree will help you achieve them.

You might want to discuss your career ambitions, the challenges you hope to overcome, or the positive change you want to create. 

Consider reflecting on 1-2 of the Snow Scholar Attributes on your response.
